TEXAS
EXECUTIVES TO SERVE ON NAM
BOARD OF DIRECTORS
WASHINGTON, D.C., Feb. 27, 2003—Two Texas executives will serve on the Board
of Directors of the National Association of Manufacturers (NAM), NAM President
Jerry Jasinowski announced at the association’s recent semiannual board
meeting earlier this month.
Newly
elected NAM board members from Texas are:

Waste Management (Houston)

Barry Nickerson,
president, Marlow Industries (Dallas)
The executives will be available throughout the coming year for comment on a
variety of business issues, including the outlook for a manufacturing
recovery and the unprecedented challenges facing manufacturers and threatening
economic growth. They can also discuss the NAM’s pro-worker, pro-growth agenda
which includes tax relief to encourage capital investment, productivity and job
creation; trade expansion; enhancing workforce productivity; improving the
climate for technological innovation; reform of the healthcare system; asbestos
litigation reform; developing a long-term national energy strategy; and
eliminating unnecessary regulatory and legal costs.
