MALCOLM BALDRIGE NATIONAL QUALITY AWARD

The Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award is an award that recognizes up to five companies a year that demonstrate outstanding quality management systems.  The award was started on August 20, 1986 with President Ronald Reagan signing Public Law 100-107.  The law would later become know as the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Improvement Act which was created under the direction of the American Society of Quality Control and the National Institute of Standards and Technology.  The Act established a national award that recognizes total quality management in American industry.
