Since lasers are not 100% efficient, they generate waste heat during the lasing process. If this heat remains in the laser, it will overheat and cause wavelength shift, reliability issues and finally catastrophic failure.
Thermoelectric cooling assemblies are ideal for removal of waste heat and laser temperature stabilization. Marlow has extensive experience in laser temperature stabilization for military applications. This includes stabilizing the pump sources for laser designators as well as the lasing medium.
