barry nickerson

Barry Nickerson, General Manager

Barry Nickerson has direct responsibilities for Marlow Industries’ global operations, including research, finance, sales/marketing, manufacturing, European and Asian operations, which serve the defense, space, photonics, telecommunications, medical, automotive, power generation, consumer and industrial markets. Prior to Marlow Industries, Nickerson spent 24 years with Xerox Corporation where he held numerous executive positions including vice president of region operations, director of information systems marketing and director of total quality. He founded and served as president of Customer Quality Solution in 1995. Directly prior to joining Marlow Industries, Nickerson was with InteSys Technologies where he was vice president of commercial operations, division vice president and general manager for the Automotive Division. Nickerson is a 1967 graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point and completed his graduate work in the Georgia State University MBA program. He is a member of the International Conference of Thermoelectrics (ICT), Material Research Society (MRS) and Hogan Quality Consortium. He served for seven years on the board of directors for the National Association of Manufacturers (NAM) and remains a member of the Marlow Industries Advisory Board.

 

bob davis

Bob Davis, Director Global Sales and Marketing

Bob Davis graduated from Rutgers University with a Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering and from the University of Dallas with a Masters in Business Administration. Davis joined Marlow Industries in 2000 as an account executive, focused on the telecommunications market. He now serves as the director of global sales and marketing operations for Marlow Industries and leads Marlow’s sales, marketing and customer service team. Prior to joining Marlow, Davis managed the Infrared Sensors Product Group for the Sensing and Control Division of Honeywell. Bob was also part of an advanced management development group at Honeywell. He was published as a benchmark for global account management. His experience ranges from project engineering, program management, engineering management and business development in near infrared, custom sensing assemblies and sub-systems for Honeywell as well as Optek and TRW. He has extensive experience in international sales and marketing of high-tech electronic products. kevin macgibbon

Kevin MacGibbon, Director Global Manufacturing Operations

As director of global manufacturing and engineering operations, Kevin MacGibbon is responsible for running the day-to-day operations of Marlow's vertically integrated manufacturing and engineering, as well as developing future manufacturing and engineering initiatives. MacGibbon has 17 years of operations experience in three major industries: semiconductor equipment, medical devices and industrial gases. He has held positions from plant manager to vice president of operations. This experience, coupled with his total quality commitment to continuous improvement through the use of lean manufacturing principles, has established a solid foundation for Marlow Industries to build upon.MacGibbon is a 1980 graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point with a degree in general engineering.

 

pam jennett

Pam Jennett, Human Resources Manager

As manager of global human resources and regulatory compliance, Pam Jennett is responsible for directing, managing and executing the plans, programs and initiatives of the human resources, export control, safety and environmental functions. In this capacity, she employs progressive policies and practices that align individual resources with corporate requirements and encourages employee involvement, teamwork, training and continuous improvement. She manages the daily operations of the Dallas HR function and provides input for effective organizational development and utilization of cross-cultural work groups and resources. She acts as the Marlow regulatory compliance officer, responsible for ensuring a sound export compliance system and overseeing the environmental and safety programs to ensure an environmentally and occupationally safe work environment while meeting all federal and state codes, including international facilities. Prior to her current position, Jennett has been responsible for a variety of functions within the company, including marketing communications, customer service, assisting with the development of the Total Quality Management system and the implementation of an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system. Jennett has served on the Workforce and Economic Development Committee to the Texas State Higher Education Coordinating Board, the National Board of Examiners for the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award and the U.S. Department of Labor Economic Summit on Workforce Skills and Development. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in interdisciplinary studies from the University of Texas at Dallas.

 

jack hunt

Jack Hunt, Director of Global Quality

Jack Hunt is the global director of quality at Marlow Industries, where he is responsible for tactical and strategic quality initiatives, including statistical process control (SPC), process management activities and management of the ISO 9001/2000 and Malcolm Baldrige-based quality system. Before joining Marlow in 2001, Hunt spent 12 years with IBM Corporation. He held positions in engineering, program management and consulting, including a position on the Executive Committee of the Corporate Applied Statistics Interdivisional Technical Liaison, serving as Chairman of the Corporate SPC Committee. His work in process control and optimization became the basis for "The IBM SPC Implementation Program," an interactive video training package that includes multimedia management workshops and materials designed to lead a management team to successful implementation of six sigma techniques. The IBM Corporate Management Committee deployed this program to all IBM plants, and it was subsequently marketed to more than 200 customers. Hunt is the author of numerous technical papers in the field of quality and has received the Best Paper Award at several international conferences, including the International Semiconductor Science Manufacturing Symposium and the IBM Worldwide Leadership Symposium on Six Sigma Quality. Directly prior to joining Marlow Industries, Hunt was director of quality systems at InteSys Technologies, a custom injection molder with 13 facilities worldwide. Hunt is a graduate of the College of William and Mary with a bachelor’s degree in mathematics, and also holds an master’s degree in mathematics from the University of Vermont.

 

lewis newman

Lewis Newman, Finance Manager

As Finance Manager for Marlow Industries, Lewis Newman is the senior financial officer responsible for overseeing Marlow’s Finance and Information Technology Operations. Mr. Newman is a graduate of both The University of Texas at Arlington with a BBA in Finance and The University of North Texas with an MBA in Finance. Newman is also a licensed CPA in the State of Texas. With over twenty years of financial management experience in both manufacturing and engineering industries, Mr. Newman’s background includes a strong knowledge of financial and cost accounting, financial and cost analysis, ERP systems, budgeting, planning and forecasting. Prior to joining Marlow Industries, Mr. Newman has held previous financial officer positions as both a Controller and VP of Finance.

 

pete townsend

Pete Townsend, Sr. Manager Engineering Operations

Pete Townsend graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering and joined Marlow Industries in 1984 as a thermal design engineer. He has worked as a project engineer, program manager, engineering manager and account executive for the Defense Space and Photonics Group, Non-Telecom Lasers and Industrial Applications. He currently works as the senior engineering manager responsible for product development for the defense, space, medical, telecom and automotive markets. With more than 22 years of experience in the thermoelectric industry, he has extensive experience in designing and developing thermoelectric coolers and assemblies for MI's different markets.

 

jeff sharp

Dr. Jeff Sharp, Sr. Manager Chief Scientist, SMTS

Dr. Sharp joined Marlow as a member of the technical staff in 1995. Since then, Dr. Sharp advanced to the role of chief scientist and manages Marlow’s Materials Research & Development team as a senior member of the technical staff. Dr. Sharp holds a Bachelor of Science in physics from the University of Central Arkansas and a Ph.D. in physics from the University of Tennessee. Immediately prior to joining Marlow, he was a National Research Council Postdoctoral Fellow working at NIST, Gaithersburg. In recent years, Dr. Sharp guided the initiation, development and scale-to-production of Marlow’s proprietary MAM/MAM+ formulation of bismuth telluride alloys. During that same time, he also demonstrated the feasibility of co-fabrication of P and N materials and was awarded a patent on this concept. Currently, Dr. Sharp is leading a team that will put in place a high-volume, high-performance bismuth telluride production process to support new business opportunities. In addition, he leads Marlow’s quest for new thermoelectric materials with dramatically higher performance. Dr. Sharp’s group discovered the good thermoelectric properties of Tl2SnTe5, which has helped to spur interest in Tl-bearing compounds for their thermoelectric properties.

 

jim bierschenk

Jim Bierschenk, Senior Manager and Chief Engineer PPR&D

Jim Bierschenk joined Marlow Industries, Inc. in January 1987. He is a Sr. member of the technical staff and leader of the company’s corporate Product and Process R&D group. Bierschenk has more than 20 years of experience designing thermoelectric coolers and thermoelectric cooling systems and more than 14 years of engineering management experience. Bierschenk also holds a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering from the University of Texas at Austin, 1984. His design and management experience encompasses all markets served by Marlow, including industrial, telecom, defense, space, medical and consumer. He has extensive experience in qualifying new thermoelectric materials, devices and processes and transitioning them from R&D to production. Due to his qualified understanding of thermoelectric theory and operation, Bierschenk also developed the internal design software currently being used for TEC design at Marlow. He is also the recipient of five U.S. patents related to thermoelectric coolers.

 

alicia saddock

Alicia Saddock, Marketing Communications

Alicia Saddock manages marketing communications at Marlow Industries, including all advertising, public relations, print and web-based media, trade show logistics and corporate branding, to support the global sales and marketing team. Prior to joining Marlow, Saddock managed communications for various nonprofit agencies with a focus on constituent relations and fundraising. Saddock holds a Bachelor of Science in corporate communications from the University of Texas at Austin, 2003 and Master of Arts in media and communications from Dallas Seminary, 2007. Saddock is also a member of the Public Relations Society of America and the International Association of Business Communicators.
