Radioisotope Thermoelectric Generators (RTGS)
Compact Thermopile modules are thermoelectric power generators designed to eliminate voltage step-up circuits and harness the maximum (maximum what?) available in heat flux limited applications, such as small radioisotope thermoelectric generators (RTGs).
II-VI Marlow's proprietary, unique fabrication process produces an extremely rugged, monolithic module that can withstand the mechanical extremes of harsh environments. The Compact Thermopile generator offers high thermal resistance (for optimum performance with small natural convection heat sinks) combined with hundreds of p- and n- couples to maximize voltage output. Custom designs can deliver 10–100 milliwatts of perpetual power to specialized applications, such as:
• Ground surveillance.
• Aerospace sensors and data transmission
• Diurnal cycle powered sensors
• Smart munitions
